OMG! NAIJAS OWN CHAMILIONAIRE ON FORBES LIST!! A MUST READ!
"No. 18
Chamillionaire (a.k.a. Hakeem Seriki)
$11 million
Dubbed the "Mixtape Messiah," the Houston native made history last year with "Ridin'," the catchy Grammy-winning single off his 2005 platinum-selling album The Sound of Revenge. It became the top-selling ringtone in history with over 3 million downloads. Ultimate Victory, his sophomore album with a major label, is slated for release this summer and is already generating buzz thanks to the socially conscious rapper's promise that it would be profanity-free, like most of his older recordings. In 2007 he inked an endorsement deal with Energizer batteries." forbes

SINGER COMMON’S DAUGHTER ‘S MOTHER IS NIGERIAN? FROM EDO STATE?
Okay this is the biggest mystery of the year, lets say we may have found the answer to this mystery! Supposedly his daughter’s name is Omoye, which happens to be a name from the ancient Benin Kingdom OR Ishan Kingdom (in Nigeria). And what is up with Common referring to her middle name rather instead of her first name, we wonder.
The only answer is this, she is has a Nigerian Mom. We wondered why his wiki shows the mother of his second child as Erika Badu but his first child’s mom remains a mystery.

Muma is the Woman in Question
Her new work, Woman in Question, had been completed and launched at the Niteshift Coliseum, Ikeja, Lagos, before her involvement in the Celebrity GUS show.
On Monday, May 3, 2010, after she was officially evicted from the show, she instructed her marketer, Iyke De Don, to start pushing out units of her new album into the market.
Each unit, beautifully packaged in a yellow CD jacket, contains an 18_track audio CD and a five_track Video CD.
Some of the songs are Accra Boy featuring VIP of Ghana, “Girl Power” featuring Frenzy and also produced by him, “Joli” which Terry G produced and also featured in. “Scream” was produced by Cobhams Asuquo and “African Woman” is a collabo with Batman Samini of Ghana.
The album is actively themed to reflect the African Woman and her position in the society and her immediate family. Woman in Question is released under Muma’s label, Mgee Records. The singer plans to embark on an African tour after the new release.
Ruggedman, 9ice controversy rages
Matters assumed a different dimension when 9ice released his current album ,’Tradition’, which contains a particular song, titled, ‘Once Bitten, Twice Shy’. Most people believe that 9ice referred to Ruggedman in the song, which tells how he caught his wife having oral sex with his friend.
Obviously tired of the speculations and controversy the song has generated, Ruggedman and Toni Payne, via the Internet, asked 9ice to clear the air over whom he was referring to in the track. However, 9ice ignored them.
Apparently, Ruggedman devised another means to clear his name. In an email he sent to Life and Beat recently, he said, ”I have been called all sorts of names for something I didn‘t do. People misunderstand, but when they play judge and jury without finding out facts it hurts. But like I said earlier, time will tell. It is time to shut the rumour mongers up for good. I have had enough. I asked 9ice to clear it up, but he has not. Check all music sites from Wednesday and you will hear for yourself the real Toni/9ice/Ruggedman issue. I want this cleared up once and for all.”
Life and Beat stumbled upon a telephone conversation between Ruggedman and 9ice that was posted on the Internet.
In the interview, Rugedman had asked 9ice if he was referring to him in the song and the ltter told him not to mind the rumour mongers and concentrate on his work.
After much prodding, 9ice however said, according to the interview posted on the sites, ”Ok now Rugged, from me to you now, read my lips ‘ho ha‘, it is not Rugged that I am talking to, and such things have never transpired between Ruggedman and my wife. Allow the public to say whatever they want to say. We are not people, we are stars and as such, people will talk about us. Do you understand? But from me to you, that thing has never happened.”
Meanwhile, Ruggedman has got more knocks than kudos going by the comments people made on the Internet since the interview was posted.
A lot of people were of the opinion that Rugged behaved in an immature man by recording the telephone conversation he had with his colleague without his knowledge.
Meanwhile, Life and Beat called Blackhouse media, the publicist to 9ice to comment on the controversy but they said, ”We are sorry, our client is not going to comment on anything. We are not saying anything on that matter please.”
Genevieve’s alleged request for helicopter causes ripples
It would be recalled that many popular actors were reportedly not present at the awards. One of those conspicuously absent was Genevieve Nnaji, a Nollywood A-list actress.
While some actors gave reasons why they could not attend the awards, Genevieve Nnaji was allegedly absent because her request to be transported in a helicopter to the event and was ignored.
This allegation has generated so much buzz in the Internet with many people describing her request as ridiculous, while some others felt the pretty actress deserved to be ferried to the oil rich state in grand style.
However, to hear from the horse‘s mouth, Life and Beat called Genny on the phone to find out if she indeed made such a request, but her phone was switched off.
A similar call was put through to AMAA boss, Peace Osigwe, but her line failed to connect. A text message was sent to her phone and a reply saying, “Hi Nonye, Peace got your email on the alleged helicopter request by Genevieve. The truth is any star has a right to make any demand, as a condition to honour any invitation, as much as event organisers have the right to accept or reject any demand. AMAA would really prefer we allow sleeping dog s to lie. AMAA wants to build bridges and to focus on promoting creative excellence within the industry,” was sent to the reporter.
